Over the Rainbow is over 30
years young! Started in 1976 as a wedding planning resource and stationer,
it has evolved
over the years into it’s
own wonderful niche. Entrepreneur Barbara Perdue was known for her
extensive wedding resources and ingenious ways to cut costs. In 1991
she created the concept of offering gently used gowns at a fraction
of their original price. The consignment wedding gown business was
born! As a result, the name Over the Rainbow is now synonymous with
consignment gowns of all types, wedding, bridesmaid as well as mother’s
dresses.
In 1996, Barbara’s daughter Jackie bought Over the Rainbow, working
to increase the stationery side of the business. Her intensive efforts
have increased the sales of the printed word throughout the store: Wedding
Invitations, Party and Shower Invitations, Birth Announcements, Personalized
Stationery, and Holiday Cards. Just as Over the Rainbow is synonymous with
consignment wedding gowns, think Over the Rainbow for anything personalized.
If they don’t have it, they will do what they can to find it
for you.
The motto at Over the Rainbow is, “Great service is our specialty
. . . since 1976”.
